Women secretly photographed in toilet - Arrest made - Man investigated for secretly photographing women in German train station restroom
A 36-year-old man is under investigation after allegedly taking secret photographs of two women in a restroom at Braunschweig Central Station. The incident happened on Sunday afternoon and was reported to police by one of the victims.
The suspect is accused of sliding his mobile phone under a stall partition to capture images of an 18-year-old and a 47-year-old woman. One of the victims noticed the device and immediately alerted the authorities.
Germany's Federal Police took the man into temporary custody. Officers confiscated an extendable baton and a mobile phone from him during the arrest. He has since been released. A criminal investigation has been launched for violating personal privacy by taking unauthorised images. The suspect also faces administrative proceedings for possessing the baton, which is prohibited in public spaces.
The case remains under investigation by the Federal Police. The suspect could face charges related to privacy violations and illegal possession of a weapon. The two women involved have been identified as victims in the ongoing inquiry.
