Former Partner Stabbed to Death in Front of Children - Life Imprisonment - Man Sentenced to Life for Brutal Murder of Ex-Partner in Front of Children
A man has been sentenced to life in prison for the brutal murder of his ex-partner in front of their two children. The attack took place in a parking lot in Nienburg on the Weser River last May, after the couple's relationship ended in a violent dispute.
The presiding judge described the crime as driven by hatred and depravity, with the defendant believing his victim 'deserved to die'.
The couple, who were distant cousins, married in a Yazidi ceremony just three to four weeks after meeting on TikTok in late 2024. However, their relationship quickly turned violent. Following a heated argument, the woman left the defendant, fearing for her safety.
Unable to accept the breakup, the man became consumed by betrayal. He accused his ex-partner of stealing money and gold from their wedding. In the weeks leading up to the murder, he sent himself messages declaring, 'I am a man who will become a murderer.' On May 12, 2025, he carried out his plan. In broad daylight, he stabbed the woman repeatedly in a parking lot while their 10-year-old daughter and 19-year-old son watched helplessly. After the attack, he fled the scene but was quickly arrested—covered in blood and still holding the knife. During the trial, the prosecution called the murder 'almost unparalleled in its brutality.' They demanded a life sentence with a finding of particular gravity, which the court granted. The defendant admitted his intent to kill, showing no remorse for his actions.
The court's ruling ensures the defendant will remain in prison for life. His children, who witnessed the attack, now face the lasting trauma of their mother's death. The judge's verdict left no doubt about the severity of the crime—one fuelled by obsession and violence.
