Man shot in Kreuzberg as police hunt unknown attacker

A 43-year-old man was shot in the leg near Yorckstraße and Mehringdamm in Kreuzberg early this morning. The attack happened at around 12:30 a.m., and the suspect fled the scene immediately afterwards. Police are now searching for the unknown assailant and investigating the motive.

The victim was rushed to hospital and underwent surgery for his injuries. His current condition has not been disclosed.

Police Directorate 5 (City), based in Kreuzberg, is leading the investigation. No arrests have been made, and the suspect's identity remains unknown.

Meanwhile, an unrelated robbery at a Berlin-Mitte hotel on October 25, 2025, is still under investigation by the same police unit. Surveillance images of an armed man who escaped by taxi were released, but no suspects have been identified. Authorities continue to seek public assistance in both cases.

The Kreuzberg shooting leaves a man recovering from surgery while police work to identify the attacker. Investigations into both this incident and the earlier hotel robbery remain active. Anyone with information is urged to contact the authorities.
