Marburg-Biedenkopf hosts transformative inclusion training for youth workers

A training session on inclusion in youth work took place in Marburg-Biedenkopf on Monday, March 9, 2026. Organised by the district administration, the event brought together volunteers, professionals, and educators to discuss participation and accessibility. The focus was on breaking down barriers in child and youth services.

The workshop, titled 'Experiencing Diversity and Breaking Down Barriers: Inclusion in Youth Work', was led by the county's Youth Services department. Lebenshilfe Marburg-Biedenkopf educators guided the sessions, offering insights into the history of inclusion, its current challenges, and personal experiences shared through poetry slams. Participants described these discussions as particularly valuable.

Aktion Mensch supported the event, which aimed to improve inclusive practices in youth work. District Administrator Jens Womelsdorf later highlighted the importance of the topic and thanked the Lebenshilfe team and all attendees for their involvement. Further details on upcoming trainings can be found on the county's website at *www.lkmb.de/youth*, where the Youth Services programme is regularly updated.

The session provided practical approaches for fostering inclusion in youth services. Educators and participants exchanged ideas on removing obstacles to participation. The district plans to continue similar initiatives in the future.
