Marc Jacobs elected new president of North Rhine-Westphalia’s Städtetag
The North Rhine-Westphalia Association of Cities (Städtetag NRW) has elected a new leadership team. Marc Jacobs, Lord Mayor of Hamm, will now serve as president. The changes follow the departure of former president Thomas Eiskirch, who left office on 1 November 2025.
Marc Jacobs takes over as president of Städtetag NRW, a role he will hold until the next general assembly. His election comes after Thomas Eiskirch, the former Lord Mayor of Bochum, stepped down from the position.
The new appointments mark a shift in the association’s leadership structure. Marc Jacobs will lead Städtetag NRW until the next meeting, while Christian Küsters joins as second vice president. Thomas Kufen continues to serve as first vice president.
