Marking 10 Years of Press Freedom Fight: Join Us Live on Nov 4
Ten years ago, our website faced an attack on press freedom after publishing classified documents. To mark this anniversary, we are hosting a Net Politics Evening on the theme of press freedom on November 4 at c-base Berlin. The event, free to attend both in person and via livestream, will begin at 8:00 PM with doors opening at 7:15 PM. The livestream will be available from 8:15 PM at c-base.org.
c-base is located at Rungestraße 20, 10179 Berlin. Five journalists and human rights defenders will share their assessments of the global state of free media. Topics to be covered include global press freedom challenges, press freedom in Afghanistan, and pressures on Germany's independent media. Joschka Selinger, a media expert who discussed challenges to press freedom in Germany at a previous event, will be among the speakers. The event will be moderated by Anna Biselli, co-editor-in-chief of our website.
In the past, our editorial team faced a treason investigation, but it was later dropped. This event serves as a reminder of the ongoing struggles for press freedom and the importance of independent media.
Join us on November 4 at c-base Berlin or via livestream to discuss the state of press freedom globally and in Germany. Together, let's shine a light on the challenges faced by journalists and the importance of a free and independent press.
