Marwari Sammelan Urges Simple Diwali in Honor of Late Zubeen Garg
The Purvottar Pradesh Marwari Sammelan held a special meeting to pay respects to Assam's late cultural icon, Zubeen Garg. In light of this, the Sammelan has appealed to the public to observe Diwali 2024 in a simple and dignified manner, avoiding extravagance and fireworks.
The Sammelan, led by Provincial President Kailash Kabra, emphasized unity, harmony, and brotherhood among the state's people during this time of grief. They urged everyone to remember Zubeen Garg through ritual worship and the traditional lighting of earthen lamps (deepak), rather than grand celebrations.
Community gatherings, known as Preeti Sammelans, were requested to be limited to offering greetings and good wishes only. The Sammelan also stressed avoiding external decorations and extravagance in this year's Diwali 2024 festival.
The Sammelan's appeal aims to foster a sense of unity and respect for the late Zubeen Garg, encouraging a disciplined and sober Diwali 2024 celebration focused on spiritual reflection and community bonding.
