Masked duo busted in botched cigarette machine heist near Mödling station
Two suspects from the Mödling district now face charges after a failed break-in at a cigarette vending machine. The incident took place near Mödling train station on 23 November 2025. Police intervened after reports of suspicious activity at the site.
A 19-year-old woman from the area was caught acting as a lookout during the attempted theft. She wore a balaclava and later admitted her role to investigators. Meanwhile, a second masked individual tried to force open the machine’s coin box.
The two now await further legal proceedings. The 19-year-old woman has been formally reported to authorities. Police confirmed the suspects remain in custody pending investigation.
