Masked robbers arrested after Berlin gas station heist foiled by off-duty cop
Two young men, aged 22 and 23, are in police custody following a gas station robbery in Berlin's Waidmannslust neighborhood. An off-duty officer spotted suspicious behavior and intervened, leading to their arrest.
The incident occurred at a gas station on Oraniendamm. The suspects, wearing masks, threatened a 61-year-old employee and demanded she open the cash register. They attempted to flee with money but were apprehended by officers who sustained a minor hand injury during the arrest.
The suspects were taken into custody and processed for identification. They were then transferred to the Criminal Investigation Division of Police Directorate 1 (North) for further investigation. Today, they are expected to appear in court for the issuance of arrest warrants.
The two suspects, arrested for robbing a gas station, are set to appear before an investigating magistrate. Their actions resulted in an off-duty officer sustaining a minor injury. The police's swift response led to their apprehension.
