Basement in Residential and Commercial Building in Reinickendorf on Fire - Massive Berlin fire shuts down Scharnweberstraße as 60 firefighters battle basement blaze
A fire of unknown origin has broken out in the basement of a building in Berlin’s Reinickendorf district. The blaze has forced the closure of Scharnweberstraße in the direction of Kurt-Schumacher-Platz while emergency services respond.
The fire started in the basement of a six-story residential and commercial property on Scharnweberstraße. Around 60 firefighters from Feuerwehr Berlin are currently working to extinguish the flames.
The road closure on Scharnweberstraße is expected to last until the situation is under control. Firefighters are still on site, and further updates will depend on their progress in containing the blaze.
