Massive cannabis farm uncovered in Vienenburg police raid
Police have launched a major operation in Vienenburg after uncovering a large cannabis cultivation site. Officers raided a two-story building on Goslarer Straße early Wednesday morning. The investigation follows suspicions that the unoccupied property was being used to grow marijuana illegally. The raid began after prosecutors in Braunschweig and Goslar police received public tips about suspicious activity. An investigating judge at Braunschweig District Court then authorised a search warrant for the building.
Upon entering, officers found around 600 harvested cannabis plants inside. Several people were temporarily detained for questioning, though the exact number remains unclear. Police have not yet confirmed whether any arrests were made. The operation involves extra officers to secure the site and gather evidence. Authorities expect the process of documenting the scene and removing the plants to take the entire day. Residents in the area have been warned about possible traffic delays while the work continues.
The investigation remains ongoing as police process evidence from the site. Traffic in the area could face further disruptions until the operation concludes. Authorities have not yet released additional details about those detained or the scale of the cultivation setup.
