Restaurant Roof on Fire - Significant Property Damage - Massive Fire Guts Roof of Starzach Restaurant in Overnight Blaze

A restaurant in Starzach-Sulzau, Baden-Württemberg, suffered severe damage after a fire tore through its roof. The blaze broke out in the evening, completely destroying the structure. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as the building was not in use at the time.

The fire erupted on the L370 road in the Tübingen district, engulfing the entire roof by the time firefighters arrived. Crews worked for hours to bring the flames under control, forcing authorities to close the road temporarily.

The restaurant had been closed when the blaze started, preventing any risk to staff or customers. Investigators are now examining the scene to determine the cause of the fire. Early estimates place the property damage at around €300,000. This incident marks the only major restaurant fire in Baden-Württemberg so far in 2024.

The restaurant remains closed following the extensive damage. Authorities continue to probe the fire's origin while assessing the full extent of the losses. The road has since reopened, but repairs to the building are expected to take time.
