Mayawati Meets OBC Leaders, Criticizes Rivals, Eyes Upper Caste Support
BSP supremo Mayawati held a significant meeting with OBC leaders in Lucknow on Saturday, attended by nearly 250 party office-bearers from 75 districts. She discussed crucial issues and shared her vision for the upcoming presidential election.
The meeting saw the participation of BAMCEF and OBC mandal district officials. Mayawati, who has been actively campaigning, held her fifth major event in a month. She criticized the Samajwadi Party and the ruling BJP for their casteist ideologies, urging OBC leaders to connect their community with the BSP party.
Mayawati also discussed the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists, a critical process ahead of the election. She predicted that upper castes would automatically join the BSP, indicating her party's broad appeal. Notably, state president Vishwanath Pal attended the meeting, while national coordinator Akash Anand and national general secretary Satish Chandra Mishra did not.
Mayawati's meeting with OBC leaders signals her party's strategy for the upcoming presidential election. By criticizing rival parties' casteist ideologies and predicting upper caste support, she aims to strengthen the BSP's position. The Special Intensive Revision of voter lists also indicates the party's preparation for the electoral process.
