New Alliance "Together in Motion" Launches Action Day in MV - Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania unites for a day of civic action ahead of 2026
A statewide day of action is set to take place this Saturday across Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The event, organized by the alliance Moving Forward Together, will bring together hundreds of local initiatives and groups. Founded in October 2025, the network aims to influence political discussions ahead of the 2026 elections.
The alliance brings together over 350 initiatives, associations, and individuals. It focuses on promoting fact-based, constructive solutions while fostering solidarity among residents. Equal opportunities and fair participation remain central to its mission.
This weekend's events will span seven cities: Schwerin, Wismar, Ludwigslust, Rostock, Laage, Stralsund, and Greifswald. Funding for the activities comes from private donations and grants provided by independent foundations.
Since its launch, Moving Forward Together has inspired similar movements elsewhere. By March 2026, three other German states—Bavaria, Hesse, and North Rhine-Westphalia—had established their own party-independent citizen alliances. These groups also concentrate on shaping debates for the upcoming elections.
The day of action reflects growing civic engagement in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. With a broad democratic base, the alliance seeks to ensure public concerns remain at the forefront of political discussions. Further activities are expected as the 2026 election approaches.
