Medical emergency triggers multi-vehicle crash in Berlin’s Schöneberg district
A medical emergency led to a serious car crash in Schöneberg, Berlin, late last night. Incident No. 2415 involved a 28-year-old driver losing control of his vehicle on Potsdamer Straße, causing significant damage and disrupting public transport.
The out-of-control car sideswiped an advertising pillar and collided with a traffic light pole, causing severe damage that required the Berlin Fire Department to dismantle it. The accident also resulted in a collision with another vehicle driven by a 39-year-old man at the intersection with Bülowstraße. The driver and a 24-year-old passenger were hospitalized, while another 28-year-old occupant received outpatient care.
The incident led to road closures, with BVG bus routes 106, 187, M19, M48, and M85 being diverted to avoid the affected area. The traffic police of the Berlin Police are conducting the investigation, with the specialized traffic crimes unit of Directorate 4 (South) taking the lead.
The accident on Potsdamer Straße in Schöneberg has been logged as Incident No. 2415. The investigation is ongoing to determine the full extent of the incident and its causes. The affected individuals are receiving appropriate medical care.
