Meghalaya CM Launches 'One North East' to Amplify Region's Voice
Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma has launched 'One North East', a unified platform for the northeastern states. The initiative aims to amplify the region's collective voice and promote development. Key figures like Sangma and Pradyot Bikram Manikya joined forces to create this collaborative effort.
The platform, 'One North East', brings together all eight northeastern states. Each party maintains its autonomy but works in collaboration through this new forum. A nine-member committee, led by Sangma, has been formed to outline the structure and goals of the platform. They aim to submit a report within 45 days.
Sangma clarified that the initiative is not a political confrontation, but a collaboration for the development of the Northeast. The committee will focus on development, regional cooperation, and safeguarding the rights of the people of the Northeast. Prominent leaders from all eight states, including Daniel Langthasa, joined Sangma at the launch.
