Meiningen Business Roundtable relaunches to spark economic dialogue and growth
The Meiningen Business Roundtable has returned after a break, aiming to rebuild its role as a key platform for economic discussion. The first gathering of 2026 took place at the Multigenerational Community Center, drawing entrepreneurs and local leaders. Organisers hope the revival will boost networking and support business growth in the region.
The Business Roundtable began in 2016, establishing itself as a space for open dialogue between businesses and city officials. Past meetings allowed entrepreneurs to share challenges, opportunities, and ideas for improving local conditions. Mayor Fabian Giesder highlighted the value of these exchanges in shaping Meiningen's economic policies.
This year's event was hosted jointly by the City of Meiningen, Sebastian Wehlisch of Sozialwerk Meiningen gGmbH, and Daniel Weißbach, head of psychosocial services. Both presented their organisations, emphasising their contributions to the region's social and economic fabric. Attendees included Thuringia's Minister of Economic Affairs, Colette Boos-John, and state parliament member Janine Merz. The revival aligns with Meiningen's broader economic strategy: streamlining administrative processes, fostering strong business conditions, and encouraging collaboration. The series will continue to offer insights into the local economy while strengthening ties between the mayor's office and entrepreneurs.
The roundtable's return marks an effort to reignite economic discussions in Meiningen. Future meetings will focus on networking, sharing business experiences, and supporting the city's development goals.
