Mensch Foundation's 'Shift Change' Swaps Roles for Inclusion
The Mensch Foundation's 'Shift Change' action saw employees from various companies in Dithmarschen swap their usual roles for a day to work in facilities supporting people with high assistance needs. The day care facility in Meldorf was one such location, demonstrating the importance of work for everyone.
The event, organized by Markus Reichhart, drew participants including Meldorf's mayor Uta Bielfeldt, management from Kruse forwarding company, and employees from Brunsbüttel Ports, VR Bank Westküste, Wulff Med Tec GmbH, and more. They tried their hands at packaging, assembly, farming, butchery, workshop kitchen, and electrical assembly.
Impressed by the diversity of tasks and the expertise of those with disabilities, participants praised the professional order processing. The action day also took place in Heide and Brunsbüttel, involving companies and city officials from the municipalities.
The Mensch Foundation expresses gratitude to all participants for expanding personal experience horizons and promoting visibility for participation and inclusion. The 'Shift Change' action, by switching workplaces, aims to provide new perspectives for employees.
