Mexico’s President praises consuls for defending nationals in the US
President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo has praised the efforts of Mexico’s consuls in supporting nationals living in the United States. Speaking at the National Palace, she highlighted their active role in defending Mexicans abroad. No new consuls specifically assigned to this news task have been reported in recent sources.
During a press conference, Sheinbaum Pardo expressed satisfaction with the work of Mexico’s consular staff. She noted that progress was being made to ensure Mexicans abroad feel protected by their consulates. The President also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to standing with its citizens overseas.
Standard consular services, including assistance for Mexican nationals, remain in place across US-based consulates. However, no recent appointments of new consuls focused solely on protecting Mexicans in the US have been identified in available news sources.
The President’s remarks come as Mexico continues to emphasise support for its nationals in the United States. While existing consulates maintain their usual services, no new specialised consuls have been formally announced. The government’s stance remains clear: protecting Mexicans abroad is a priority.
