Michael Söder takes charge at Eschwege police station with decades of expertise
Michael Söder has assumed the role of the new head at the Eschwege police station, effective November 1, 2025. He succeeds Markus Peters, who moved to lead the Kassel Central Police Precinct earlier this year.
Söder brings a wealth of experience to his new position. He began his career with the Hesse State Police in 1995 and has since served in various roles. From 1995 to 1999, he worked as an operational officer at the IIIrd Standby Police Unit in Mühlheim am Main.
He later returned to the region, serving as deputy shift group leader at the Eschwege police station from 2015 to 2018. From 2003 to 2010, Söder worked at the former IVth Standby Police Unit in Kassel and later at the Hessisch Lichtenau and Witzenhausen police stations. Most recently, he led the Operations Group at the Werra-Meißner Police Directorate from 2022 until his appointment.
Christopher Pfaff, Director of the Werra-Meißner Police Directorate, expressed confidence in Söder's leadership and expertise. Police President Marco Bärtl and Rainer Neusüß, designated head of the Operations Division, inaugurated Söder at the Eschwege police station.
Michael Söder, a family man who enjoys table tennis and outdoor activities, takes the helm at the Eschwege police station. With his extensive experience and the confidence of his superiors, he is well-positioned to lead the station effectively.
