Military aircraft missing from base in Qatar according to satellite imagery.
Revamped Report:
Aircraft at Al Udeid Air Base have been relocated due to escalating regional tensions.
On June 5, satellite imagery revealed nearly 40 military aircraft - including Hercules C-130 transport planes and reconnaissance aircraft - parked at Al Udeid. By June 19, only three aircraft remained, with no sightings by June 30.
The US embassy in Qatar has warned of limited access to the base out of "caution" and asked personnel to "remain vigilant."
With Israel and Iran's conflict escalating, President Trump is considering joining Israel's strikes on Iran. The Islamic republic could retaliate with attacks on US bases in the region.
Mark Schwartz, a retired US Army lieutenant general, emphasized that Al Udeid's close proximity to Iran makes the base and its assets "extremely vulnerable." Even shrapnel, Schwartz warned, could render aircraft "non-mission capable."
Planes departing after early June may have been moved to hangars or other bases. A US defense official, while not disclosing specifics, assured readiness with the "highest level of readiness, lethality, and professionalism."
Based on open-source data tracking aircraft movements, approximately 27 military refueling planes traveled from the U.S. to Europe between June 15-18. As of late Wednesday, 25 of these planes remained in Europe, while only two had returned to the U.S.
With more than 40,000 US troops stationed in the region, families have been offered voluntary evacuations as a precaution. The Pentagon is tight-lipped about specific troop movements but stands ready to respond swiftly to any developments.
So, the US military is removing aircraft from Al Udeid Air Base to guard against potential Iranian attacks. Given the uncertain regional landscape, these relocations underscore the military's commitment to safeguarding its assets.
