Military families explore GAZ Museum’s wartime legacy in Nizhny Novgorod

Families of soldiers involved in the special military operation recently toured the GAZ Museum in Nizhny Novgorod. The visit was organized by the local branch of United Russia to mark Transport Workers’ Day. Over 3,000 exhibits and 43,000 archival items, including wartime vehicles, were on display for the guests. The Gorky Automobile Plant played a crucial role during the Great Patriotic War. Despite enduring seven major bombing raids—including a devastating attack in 1943—it never stopped production. Factories at the site churned out trucks, tanks, and armored cars to support the war effort. The tour provided families with a firsthand look at the region’s industrial and military legacy. The museum’s wartime exhibits and preserved vehicles highlighted the plant’s resilience under fire. United Russia’s initiative ensured the visit coincided with Transport Workers’ Day, reinforcing its commitment to supporting military-connected communities.
