Military Officers Take Over Leadership at Two Major Medical Colleges
The government has appointed two armed forces division officials to lead two major medical college hospitals. Brigadier General PKM Masud-ul-Islam and Brigadier General ATMA Rustom will take up their new roles immediately. Both officers were promoted from colonel before their appointments to their new roles as college board directors.
Brigadier General PKM Masud-ul-Islam has been named director of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital. He replaces Brigadier General Md Mazharul Islam Khan, who has returned to the armed forces division. The change marks a shift in leadership at the institution.
Brigadier General ATMA Rustom will now oversee Sir Salimullah Medical College Hospital. His predecessor, Brigadier General FM Shamim Ahammad, has also been reassigned to the armed forces division. Both new college board directors were selected for their experience within the military structure.
The appointments come without a public announcement from the Ministry of Public Administration. No official statement has confirmed the process or criteria behind the selections.
The two hospitals now operate under new military leadership. The former directors have left their posts and returned to their original divisions. The government has not provided further details on the transition or future plans for the hospitals.
