Mindef's 2025 Melaka MADANI Rakyat Programme Unites Nation in Security Showcase
The Ministry of Defence (Mindef) is hosting the 2025 Melaka MADANI Rakyat Programme (PMR), a grand event that brings together the military, security agencies, community, organisations, and the private sector. This year's PMR, themed 'Security and Sovereignty for All', emphasises the importance of collective effort in protecting Malaysia's security and sovereignty.
The programme includes an impressive exhibition of military assets from all three branches of the Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF): land, sea, and air. This display of strength is accompanied by community activities, agency exhibitions, and defence performances, creating a vibrant atmosphere for all attendees.
Mindef's commitment to community development is evident in the increased allocation for corporate social responsibility (CSR) programmes. This year, they received an additional RM20 million, doubling the RM10 million allocated last year. The funds will be used to implement approximately 150 programmes benefiting the community, including Rahmah Sales and Agro Madani Sales, and a 50% discount on summons payments from the police and JPJ.
The career carnival held as part of the PMR provides job opportunities for university graduates in various fields. This initiative aligns with Mindef's five CSR programmes, fostering collaboration between the military, security agencies, and the private sector.
Mindef's budget for 2026 has seen a significant boost, with an additional RM600 million allocated for defending Malaysia's sovereignty. This substantial increase reflects the government's commitment to strengthening the nation's defence capabilities.
The 2025 Melaka PMR serves as a reminder that the security and sovereignty of Malaysia are not solely the responsibility of the security forces but require collective effort from the entire community. With increased CSR allocations, job opportunities for graduates, and a substantial defence budget, Mindef continues to demonstrate its commitment to protecting and serving Malaysia and its people.
