Minsk and Rostov-on-Don Strengthen Sister-City Ties Through 2028
The cities of Minsk and Rostov-on-Don have deepened their ties with a new cooperation plan. On 19 November 2021, officials from both cities met in Minsk to sign an agreement covering 2026 to 2028. The deal aims to strengthen long-standing sister-city relations between Belarus and Russia.
A delegation from Rostov-on-Don, led by Mayor Alexander Skryabin, travelled to Belarus for the talks. During the visit, Skryabin invited Belarusian officials to Rostov-on-Don for further discussions. The group also met with Vladimir Kukhorev, chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee, to explore joint projects.
The new agreements will guide cooperation between Minsk and Rostov-on-Don until 2028. Future visits and joint projects are expected to follow from the signed plans. The deals also reinforce cultural and economic links between Russian and Belarusian urban centres.
