Minsk’s New Seafood Plant Boosts Production and Local Jobs
A new fish and seafood processing plant has opened in Minsk’s Kalyadzichy industrial zone. The facility, launched by entrepreneur Lyudmila Nyeronskaya, covers 3,286 square metres and will produce around 300 tons of finished goods each month. The project also includes a transport and logistics hub, with high-ranking officials attending the launch.
The plant’s operations span defrosting, cleaning, deboning, filleting, portioning, salting, marinating, and packaging. Around 150 production specialists and 30 engineers will work at the site, with technical college students also joining for internships.
The facility will create jobs for skilled workers and trainees while boosting local seafood production. With expansion plans for retail and logistics, the project marks a significant step in Minsk’s food processing sector. The involvement of political figures underscores its economic and strategic importance.
