Mixed 2024 Election Results Shift Power in Key New Jersey Towns

Election results are in, with Democrats and Republicans both securing victories across various races in the region. Notable wins include Patricia Bailey, Stephanie Marshall, and Mohammed Suhel Ahmed for the Democrats, while Republicans saw success in Hammonton. Marty Small, Sr. retained his mayoral seat in Atlantic City.

In a significant victory for the Democrats, Patricia Bailey, Stephanie Marshall, and Mohammed Suhel Ahmed emerged triumphant in their respective races. Meanwhile, Republicans secured three council seats in Hammonton, with one incumbent failing to secure re-election.

In Hamilton Township, Carl Pitale and Thelma Witherspoon, both Republicans, currently lead in their bids for re-election to the Hamilton Township Committee. Democrat Tracy Thompson also secured an unexpired term on the committee.

In Galloway, Democrats are poised to flip two of four council seats, with close races between Democrats and Republicans keeping the outcome tense.

Marty Small, Sr., a Democrat, successfully defended his mayoral seat in Atlantic City, defeating Naeem Khan with a substantial 62.5% of the vote. Small's trial for physically abusing his teenage daughter is set to begin next week.

Democrat Pete Castellano flipped a Township Committee seat in Egg Harbor Township, defeating incumbent Paul Rosenberg. Similarly, in Mullica, Democrat Mark Pino ousted a Republican incumbent for a Township Committee seat.
