Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg (MLU) is hosting a series of events focused on democracy, titled 'Defending Democracy'. The project week, starting with a kickoff panel on October 29, will explore the implications of political trends and offer interactive engagement on participatory democracy.

On October 29, a kickoff panel discussion will delve into the potential impacts of a far-right victory in the upcoming Saxony-Anhalt state election. Throughout the week, academic seminars, public workshops, and panel discussions will provide insights into defending and strengthening democracy.

A highlight of the project week is the 'Direct Democracy Omnibus' visiting MLU on November 3. This interactive event will engage participants in participatory democracy. Additionally, a joint event with the Future Center for German Unity and European Transformation, titled 'Hope for the East', will take place on November 4. The head of the Future Center will present on this day at 6 pm in Lecture Hall II of the Steintor Campus, offering valuable perspectives on the future of German unity and European transformation.
