Modernized Rural Library in Yakutia Reopens as Cultural Hub
A rural library in Yakutia, Russia, has reopened after a modern makeover. The Nemugunsky rural library, branch No5 of the Hangalassky intersettlement library system, was inaugurated today following a renovation project funded by the national 'Family' initiative.
The library has transformed into a multifunctional space, suitable for individual reading, collective events, and creative initiatives. The renovation included the purchase of new furniture and equipment, and the enrichment of the book fund. The library also introduced digital technologies, offering virtual tours of major Russian museums and access to electronic resources.
The renovation was made possible by a state grant of 800,000 rubles from the Ministry of Culture of Yakutia. The Ministry of Culture and Intellectual Development of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) announced the award and transferred the funds in 2021 under the national project 'Family'. This project aims to update and develop the library network in Russia, combining classical functions with innovative solutions.
The newly renovated Nemugunsky rural library offers a modern, versatile space for the local community. With its digital technologies and enriched resources, it promises to serve as a hub for cultural and intellectual growth, reflecting the national project 'Family's' commitment to enhancing Russia's library network.
