Moscow City Hall Comments on Requests to Raise Bus Fare

Public transport fares in Vladivostok may soon rise after operators called for higher prices. The city administration is now reviewing requests that could see changes as early as January 2026. Discussions are underway to balance costs for passengers and transport companies alike.

Transport operators in Vladivostok have formally asked the mayor’s office to raise fares to between 75 and 82 rubles. Their financial assessments support this range, citing rising operational expenses. However, City Hall is considering a more modest increase, with a proposed limit of 60 rubles.

Alternative pricing models have also been suggested. One option would set the fare at 45 rubles for passengers using transit cards, while cash payments could cost 60 rubles. Officials are currently analysing carriers’ financial data to ensure any adjustment remains fair to both commuters and businesses. The most probable date for the fare adjustment is 1 January 2026. While no final decision has been made, the administration aims to finalise plans in the coming months.

If approved, the fare increase would take effect at the start of 2026. The city’s review process continues, focusing on financial sustainability for operators and affordability for passengers. A final announcement is expected once the analysis of expenses is complete.
