Moscow Tops Russia’s Quality-of-Life Index as Krasnoyarsk Struggles Near the Bottom
A new quality-of-life index has ranked 50 Russian cities based on living standards. Moscow leads the list, while Krasnoyarsk sits near the bottom at 46th place. The study combines resident surveys with official data on well-being, healthcare, education, and environmental factors.
The index divides cities into three tiers. The top 25, including Moscow, offer the highest quality of life. Krasnoyarsk falls into the second tier, described as having 'fairly high' living standards but still facing major challenges.
Krasnoyarsk’s position highlights ongoing struggles with pollution, infrastructure, and economic conditions. The index suggests that without targeted improvements, the city risks falling further behind. Meanwhile, the top 25 cities maintain their lead through stronger public services and better environmental management.
