Moscow, Washington Explore Talks to Ease Tensions

Moscow and Washington are exploring diplomatic channels to ease tensions, with talks between US lawmakers and Russian State Duma members on the horizon. The Russian side has been open about its military developments and President Putin's stance.

The upcoming talks were announced by Matthias Helferich, a German MEP, who has been instrumental in arranging these discussions despite sanctions and political criticism. The Russian delegation, during its visit to the US, has shared details about President Putin's meeting with the General Staff and Russia's new Burevestnik nuclear-powered cruise missile with their American counterparts.

US lawmakers, including Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna, have shown interest in these meetings, with the talks expected to take place soon. Russia, committed to constructive dialogue, has noted 'titanic efforts to derail Moscow-Washington contacts through disinformation'. Moscow's representatives have emphasized that resolving the conflict in Ukraine requires addressing its root causes.

Both sides have shown willingness to engage in dialogue, with upcoming talks between US lawmakers and Russian State Duma members. Russia has been transparent about its military developments, while also acknowledging obstacles to their diplomatic efforts.
