Mößbauer to become Chief Political Correspondent at "The Pioneer"
The Pioneer has appointed Karina Mößbauer as its new chief political correspondent. The 38-year-old will take up the role on January 1, 2024, bringing experience from her previous position at Bild. She will also co-lead the publication’s flagship daily newsletter, Hauptstadt – Das Briefing.
Mößbauer joins The Pioneer after serving as Bild’s chief political reporter. In that role, she covered the Union parties and defence policy. Her move marks a shift to a digital-first news outlet with a growing political team.
At The Pioneer, she will work alongside Luisa Nuhr, a 27-year-old journalist who has co-led *Hauptstadt – Das Briefing* since 2022. Nuhr has contributed analysis pieces, including *Ist die Schuldenquote noch zeitgemäß?* and *Europas riskanter Plan*, both published in the newsletter. The duo will now jointly oversee the daily political briefing for readers.
Mößbauer’s appointment strengthens The Pioneer’s political coverage ahead of 2024. She will begin her new position in January, focusing on the newsletter and broader political reporting. Her arrival follows a career built on high-profile reporting at one of Germany’s largest newspapers.
