Mother and Child Injured in Traffic Accident
A serious traffic collision took place in Berlin’s Marzahn district on December 18, 2025. The crash involved a van and a car carrying a mother and her three-year-old son. Emergency services rushed both victims to hospital for treatment after the impact.
The incident occurred as the 33-year-old woman attempted to turn left onto Zinndorfer Straße on a green light. Her car collided with a van driven by a 33-year-old man. The force of the crash left the mother with chest bruising and an ear injury caused by the airbag deployment.
Her son suffered a head bruise, cuts to his face and torso, and had to be freed from the wreckage by firefighters. The van driver escaped without injury. Both the child and the mother were admitted to hospital for further care.
The crash caused major disruption, with Blumberger Damm fully closed to northbound traffic until around 8 p.m. Police have not released the identity of the van driver, stating that investigations remain ongoing.
Authorities continue to examine the circumstances of the collision. The road closure lasted several hours, affecting local traffic flow. The mother and child remain under medical observation following their injuries.
