Motorcyclist critically injured after 10-metre fall from Berlin bridge
A 33-year-old motorcyclist was seriously injured in Reinickendorf on Thursday afternoon. The accident occurred near the A 111 motorway slip road, prompting an ongoing investigation by Berlin police. No official findings have yet been released.
The crash took place at around 3 p.m. on July 18, 2024, as the rider travelled from Antonienstraße onto the A 111 toward Kurt-Schumacher-Damm. While navigating a left-hand bend, the motorcyclist swerved right, struck the kerb, and scraped against the bridge railing. The impact sent the rider over the guardrail, resulting in a ten-metre fall below.
Emergency responders performed resuscitation at the scene before rushing the injured motorcyclist to hospital for intensive treatment. The Special Traffic Unit of Police Directorate 1 (North) took charge of the investigation shortly after the incident.
