Motorcyclist dies in A100 highway crash near Schöneberg interchange
A fatal traffic accident took place on the A100 highway in Schöneberg on March 28, 2026. A 30-year-old motorcyclist died after losing control of his bike near the Schöneberg interchange. The crash occurred just before 3:25 p.m., prompting an immediate police response.
The rider was travelling in the left lane towards Innsbrucker Platz when the incident unfolded. For reasons still under investigation, he suddenly veered left off the roadway. His motorcycle struck a guardrail and a concrete anchor before colliding with a light pole.
The impact proved fatal. Emergency services arrived quickly, but the motorcyclist could not be saved. The highway was shut in both directions at the scene until 7:19 p.m. while investigators from the Traffic Accident Unit of Police Directorate 5 (City) examined the area. The case has since been transferred to a specialised traffic crime unit under Police Directorate 4 (South). No major traffic disruptions were reported beyond the temporary closure. The damaged police vehicle involved in the initial chase was cleared, and no further road impacts were noted by March 30, 2026.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances of the crash. The motorcyclist's death marks the latest incident on this stretch of the A100. Further details will depend on the findings of the ongoing traffic crime probe.
