Motorcyclist injured after Berlin car collision near Westend junction
A 62-year-old motorcyclist was injured in a collision with a car in Berlin’s Westend district on Tuesday morning. The crash happened at around 10 a.m. on Platanenallee, near the junction with Knobelsdorffstraße. Emergency services quickly attended the scene. The accident occurred when a 53-year-old woman driving a Hyundai pulled into traffic from the side of the road. Her vehicle struck the motorcyclist, who was travelling along Platanenallee. The rider sustained a hip injury and was taken to hospital for treatment. The car driver remained unharmed. Police have not released her name to the public. Investigators from the traffic offenses unit of Police Directorate 2 (West) are now examining the incident. The motorcyclist continues to receive medical care for his injuries.
