MP Jerry Shiab pushes for completion of stalled STEM school in Weija-Gbawe

Jerry Ahmed Shiab, Member of Parliament (MP) for Weija-Gbawe, inspected a delayed STEM School project at Upper Weija on November 15, 2025. Initiated under former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the project has faced setbacks, raising concerns about access to modern educational facilities in the area.

The MP took up the issue with the Minister of Education, Haruna Iddrissu, advocating for the swift completion of the project. He underscored its importance, stating that promoting STEM education is 'a crucial foundation for national development'. The inspection aimed to assess the current state of the project and engage stakeholders to hasten its completion. The Ghana Education Service has already addressed the minister regarding the urgent completion of the STEM school project in Upper Weija. The MP assured constituents of pushing for the timely resumption and completion of the STEM school, noting that the project is 77 percent complete.

The MP's intervention signals a dedication to fostering a comprehensive educational environment in the Weija-Gbawe constituency. With the project 77 percent complete, constituents eagerly await the timely resumption and completion of the STEM school to equip young people with skills for a rapidly evolving global landscape.
