Multi-Vehicle Crash in Marzahn: Minibus Runs Red Light, Injures Several

A multi-vehicle collision in Marzahn, Germany, involving a minibus and two cars, caused significant disruption and injuries. The incident, numbered 2371, occurred at the intersection of Märkische Allee and Havemannstraße around 4:10 p.m.

The collision began when a 32-year-old man driving a minibus ran a red light and struck a Volkswagen Polo driven by a 27-year-old man. The force of the impact caused the minibus to then collide with an oncoming VW Beetle, driven by a 21-year-old woman with a 20-year-old passenger. The crash resulted in the minibus driver sustaining serious injuries, while the Beetle driver suffered head injuries, and the Polo driver experienced pain in his arm, neck, and shoulder. Two of the three men in the minibus were hospitalized but left against medical advice, with the third remaining uninjured.

The Berlin Police Directorate 2 (West) is investigating the exact circumstances of the crash. All three vehicles were impounded for technical analysis and accident reconstruction. The incident led to disruptions in BVG bus routes 197 and N97 from 4:20 p.m. to 1:20 a.m. Märkische Allee and Havemannstraße were closed to traffic during rescue operations and accident documentation.

The multi-vehicle collision in Marzahn has left several individuals injured, with the minibus driver and Beetle driver requiring immediate medical attention. The police are currently investigating the cause of the crash, and bus services in the area were disrupted due to the incident. The intersection remains closed while authorities document the accident.
