Munich debuts first Latin American store in Chile after founders’ return

Munich, the Spanish fashion brand, has opened its first standalone store in Latin America just two weeks after the return of its founders. The new location in Santiago, Chile, marks the company’s second store outside Spain. This expansion follows a year of strong financial growth in 2011, with sales rising by 18% to €28 million.

The brand’s growth in 2011 was driven largely by international markets, which accounted for over 40% of its revenue. Munich already distributed products in Japan, Portugal, Italy, France, and Germany, though it maintained around ten company-owned stores within Spain.

The new store in Chile strengthens Munich’s presence beyond Europe. With international news contributing significantly to revenue, the brand appears set to continue its expansion. The return of the Berneda brothers has also brought renewed momentum to the business.
