Reiter's troubles began with his involvement in FC Bayern Munich. Initially, he denied being an official supervisory board member, only to later admit the position. Court documents later revealed he had received an annual €20,000 expense allowance from the club since late 2021—even before his formal appointment. Opposition parties quickly seized on the issue, questioning whether his dual role created conflicts of interest.
