Münster students tackle fake news at Dialogues for Peace academy
A group of 21 students from three schools in Münster recently took part in the Student Academy of Dialogues for Peace to combat fake news. The event formed part of the city’s wider initiative focusing on peace, social cohesion, and responsible media use.
The academy was organised as part of Münster’s Dialogues for Peace series, which runs until 2025. This long-term project is coordinated by the Peace and Science Office at Münster Marketing, working alongside the 1648 Working Group of the Alliance for Science and the Franz Hitze Haus Academy.
The academy equipped students with tools to recognise and counter fake news. Their social media campaigns now aim to raise awareness among peers. The project highlights Münster’s ongoing commitment to fostering critical thinking and peaceful dialogue through education.
