Münster's 'Human Rights in Focus' Event Series Returns Oct 20 - Nov 30
The City of Münster's Advisory Council on Municipal Development Cooperation is hosting an annual event series, 'Human Rights in Focus', from October 20 to November 30, 2023. This year's program, designed collaboratively by council members and partner organizations, explores a wide range of human rights topics and features local, national, and international experts.
The six-week series includes a variety of activities to engage and inform participants. Dr. Kajo Schukalla, chair of the Advisory Council, will discuss the inseparable connection between development policy and human rights. The program comprises lectures, panel discussions, film screenings, a writing workshop, a pub quiz, and a video project. Topics range from the current human rights situation in Latin America and Europe to Indigenous rights and the Middle East conflict.
Flyers for the event can be picked up at the Service Center in City Hall 1 or obtained from the Council’s office at the Citizen and Council Services Department. The full program is available online at www.city-ourwebsite/ms/humanrights. For inquiries, contact Hayrie Salish at +49 251 492-3326 or via email at salish@city-ourwebsite.
The Advisory Council hopes that this event series will not only inform Münster’s residents about development policy issues but also inspire changes in daily behavior and deepen understanding of global challenges. The council welcomes the participation of local, national, and international experts in making this year's human rights-focused program a success.
