Muntinlupa City celebrates 31 years with unity and 'Muntinlupeño First' vision
Muntinlupa City marked its 31st anniversary with a celebration that brought together residents, officials, and local businesses. The event highlighted the city's progress under a governance model built on evidence, teamwork, and a focus on public welfare. Leaders stressed that trust and discipline remain key to future development.
The anniversary gathering had the feel of a community reunion, with representatives from different sectors attending. Mayor Ruffy Biazon delivered his State of the City Address, centring on the principle 'Muntinlupeño First'. He emphasised the need for strong systems, data-driven decisions, and careful management of public funds.
Congressman Jaime R. Fresnedi also spoke, pointing to the role of national policies in supporting local needs. He called for continued investment in education, healthcare, infrastructure, and disaster readiness. His remarks reinforced the idea that local success depends on alignment with broader government priorities. During the event, ten of the city's top taxpayers were recognised for their contributions. Three companies were also honoured for meeting the 70-30 hiring rule, which promotes local employment. These awards underscored the city's commitment to economic fairness and community support. One of the anniversary's key moments was the opening of the **Muntinlupa Road Safety Park**, a 3,140-square-metre facility designed to teach children about road discipline and safety. Officials described the park as a practical step toward building a culture of responsibility from an early age.
Looking ahead, Muntinlupa's challenge will be to maintain 'Muntinlupeño First' as the foundation for every policy, budget, and law. The city's approach—rooted in evidence, collaboration, and accountability—will shape its ability to meet future goals. Leaders have made clear that discipline and trust remain essential to turning plans into progress.
