Museum of Victory honors 1941 parade with rare family relics and cadets’ tribute
The Museum of Victory on Poklonnaya Hill will host a series of events on November 7 to commemorate the 1941 parade. The day will include a changing of the guard ceremony by cadets and an educational quest. A new exhibit, 'Family Relics,' will also debut, showcasing artifacts belonging to Nikolai Gerasimovich Kuznetsov, a key figure in the 1941 parade.
The ceremony will occur every 15-20 minutes from 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM at Guard Post No. 1. Cadets from the First Moscow Cadet Corps will participate in an educational quest and view the 'Road to Victory' audiovisual installation in the Hall of Glory.
The 'Family Relics' exhibit will display personal items of Nikolai Gerasimovich Kuznetsov, People’s Commissar of the Soviet Navy. Kuznetsov played a naval officer during the 1941 parade, symbolizing Soviet military readiness. The exhibit includes elements of his uniform, personal items like his glasses and fountain pen, a postage stamp for the missile cruiser Grozny with his autograph, and archival documents and photographs.
The Museum of Victory's events on November 7 aim to educate and honor the past. The changing of the guard ceremony and 'Family Relics' exhibit will provide insights into the 1941 parade and the life of Nikolai Gerasimovich Kuznetsov.
