My mission is centered on reconciliation, institutions, development: Ambassador El Khoury
Lebanon and Kuwait are strengthening ties, with a focus on economic and social cooperation. Ambassador Ghady El Khoury has highlighted Kuwait’s long-standing support for Lebanon, describing it as a second home for many Lebanese. His mission now centres on boosting investment and resolving past tensions with Gulf nations.
Since arriving in Kuwait, Ambassador El Khoury has noted the warmth shown by both the leadership and the public. He spoke highly of Kuwait’s Amir, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, praising his genuine concern for Lebanon’s welfare. This affection has set a positive tone for deeper collaboration.
The ambassador’s main goals include reconciling past disagreements between Lebanon and some GCC countries. He also aims to lift bilateral relations, particularly in economic, social, and developmental areas. His role is largely socio-economic, with a strong push to open new investment opportunities for Lebanese and Kuwaiti businesses.
Plans for high-level visits are underway, though no official dates have been announced. A potential trip by Lebanon’s Prime Minister to Kuwait is among the discussions. These exchanges are expected to further solidify the bond between the two nations.
Lebanon’s current stability in security and reform has created favourable conditions for investment. With Kuwait’s ongoing support and shared economic interests, both countries appear set to expand their partnership. The ambassador’s efforts to improve relations and attract investment could bring tangible benefits in the near future.
