NDA sweeps Bihar 2025 elections in historic landslide victory
The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has secured a landslide victory in the 2025 Bihar elections. The coalition, led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Janata Dal (United) (JDU), dominated the polls, leaving the opposition far behind. Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, has praised the outcome as a clear mandate for development and stability.
The NDA’s triumph saw the BJP emerge as the strongest single party with 89 seats. Its ally, JDU under Nitish Kumar, won 85 seats, while the Lok Janshakti Party added 19 more. Together, they crushed the opposition Mahagathbandhan, led by the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), which managed only 35 seats.
The election outcome marks a decisive shift in Bihar’s political landscape. The NDA’s strong performance signals continued support for its policies and leadership. Shinde’s remarks highlight the public’s preference for stability and progress over previous eras of turmoil.
