NDF sets candidates for 122 seats

The National Democratic Front has revealed its list of candidates for the upcoming Jatiya Sangsad elections. The alliance, led by factions of the Jatiya Party, will contest 122 seats in the vote set for 12 February. Mujibul Haque Chunnu, executive chairman of one JP faction, announced the nominees at a press conference in Dhaka.

Among the key nominations, Khandaker Anwarul Islam will run for the Dhaka-10 seat. Kazi Firoz Rashid had initially been named for the same constituency, but the final list confirmed Anwarul Islam as the official candidate.

Other notable candidates include Golam Sarwar Milon for Manikganj-2 and Jahirul Islam Jahir for Tangail-7. Anwar Hossain Manju will contest Pirojpur-2, while Anisul Islam Mahmud has been chosen for Chattogram-5. Sheikh Shahidul Islam is set to run in Madaripur-3, and Shah Mohammad Abu Zafar will stand in Faridpur-2. The list also features Mujibul Haque Chunnu himself, who will contest Kishoreganj-3. ABMRuhul Amin Hawlader rounds out the nominations as the candidate for Patuakhali-1. The alliance’s selections cover a mix of constituencies across the country, with each nominee representing a faction of the broader Jatiya Party coalition.

The National Democratic Front’s candidates will now prepare for the 12 February elections. Their nominations mark a coordinated effort by Jatiya Party factions to secure seats in the next parliament. The final list confirms 122 contestants under the alliance’s banner.
