Neersen Festival Association plans MeinFest 2026 with new acts and charity ties

The Neersen Festival Association held its latest meeting at the Kronensaal, where members gathered for updates on local events and planning. Chairman Rainer Höppner welcomed attendees, setting the stage for discussions on cultural highlights and future projects. Among the key topics were MeinFest preparations and the success of past initiatives.

The evening began with members mingling and sharing conversations before the official start. Höppner opened the meeting, followed by a treasurer's report confirming a balanced budget. The board received a vote of confidence, and existing members were reelected without opposition.

Sigrid Heuer then presented upcoming municipal events, including the Taste of Schiefbahn and the Street Food Festival. The association also reflected on last year's achievements, noting nearly 26,000 visitors at their activities. MeinFest, their flagship event, was a major focus, with organisers announcing stilt walkers and roaming performers for the next edition. The group also celebrated new additions, welcoming Lara Kurz and Mitey Abel as members. Discussions highlighted MeinFest's charitable impact, as last year's proceeds supported the German Child Protection Association. Looking ahead, Team Rynkeby Rhein-Ruhr—known for raising €112 million for childhood cancer research—will join MeinFest in 2026.

The meeting wrapped up with plans for MeinFest well underway and new members integrated into the team. The association's focus remains on expanding cultural offerings while maintaining financial stability. Organisers will continue preparations, aiming to build on last year's visitor numbers and community engagement.
