Nester hires ex-Havells exec to fuel India's D2C home appliance boom

Nester, a direct-to-consumer (D2C) home appliance brand, has brought on Kunwarjeet Grover as cofounder and chief business officer. The move follows a recent ₹19 Cr funding round and signals the startup's push into new sales channels. Grover's appointment aligns with Nester's plans to scale operations and tap into India's booming consumer electronics market.

Grover joins Nester with over 15 years of experience in scaling consumer brands. His career spans roles at Himalaya Herbal Healthcare, CavinKare, Philips Lighting, Havells India, and most recently, Wellbeing Nutrition. Before this, he briefly led growth at Pluck in 2023. His expertise in business strategy and revenue growth will support Nester's expansion into quick commerce platforms and offline retail, beyond its current ecommerce and website sales.

Nester, which sells appliances like air fryers, toasters, and juicers, competes with brands such as Nuuk, Atomberg, and Wonderchef. The startup currently relies on contract manufacturers but plans to establish its own production home in the future. This growth push comes as the D2C home appliances sector in India is projected to reach $30 Bn by 2030.

The company recently secured ₹19 Cr in a Pre-Series A round led by Fireside Ventures and OTP Ventures. Founder and CEO Abhinav Singh welcomed Grover, emphasising his track record in building digital-first brands. The new cofounder's role will focus on accelerating market expansion and driving disruptive growth in the home appliances segment.

With Grover's appointment, Nester aims to strengthen its market position and diversify sales channels. The startup's expansion into quick commerce and offline retail will complement its existing online presence. The move reflects broader growth in India's D2C consumer electronics sector, where competition and demand continue to rise.
